How large can I print my digital photos?

This info is confirmed by many sources including West Coast Imaging. Assuming you want EXCELLENT quality (Gallery/pro quality - maximum detail)here's the largest size you can print by camera MP:

5MP - 8x12
6MP - 11x14
10MP - 16x20

(7, 8, and 9MP give you no better reslts than 6MP. So, if you want to move up from 6MP you should buy at least a 10MP camera)

This is a shot of the Dewey Granby Oak site. Everybody focuses on the tree, but the entire site is very attractive.
Again, this photo was made from two versions (light and dark) of a RAW image then combined in Photoshop CS2. This allows for an increased dynamic range and looks more like the image you see with your eye.

West Hartford Art League

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to share with you that I have had three photographs (1-20x30, and 2-16x24) accepted at the Annual Open Juried Exhibition at the West Hartford Art League that opens Sunday April 23rd and runs until May 21st at the league's gallery located at 37 Buena Vista Road, West Hartford. The gallery hours are Thursday - Sundays 1-4pm.

* Rick & Peter will prepare a work shop on buying and selling camera equipment on e-bay for fall meeting.

* At the meeting Rob, Dick, Rick and Kathy volunteered for program committee for next year. any suggestions please e-mail them.

* Discussed on how to get the word out by advertising at the high school. Rob to put together a flyer to be approved before sending.

* Field Trip: looking into a visit to Wendy van Welie studio this month.

criteria to consider when judging pictures:

A What is the pictures appeal? Does it, or part of it capture your interest?

B Does the picture have good composition? Is there a sense of unity and harmony?

C Is the picture sharp, or was the intent to create a soft slightly blurred effect?

D. Would you consider the picture to be a "WOW"?

E. do you have any questions for the photographer?

F. Any other comments.

Wendy Van Welie opens her studio to Granby Camera Club

Wendy has been gracious enough to open her studio for us and run through a demo studio and outdoor shoot .. maybe we could even shoot something ourselves ..
